The New Year

Well the new year is fast approaching and it is one of those moments in most peoples lives where we decide to make new declarations of habits that we are going to change in the coming 12 months......i think the term that is normally used is new years resolutions. These are statements of intent....normally fuelled by peoples desire to change something about themselves or their situation e.g. I am going to lose weight, I am going to save more money, I am going to do this and that.

But (and this is a big but), how long do these resolutions last? I read somewhere that on average resolutions last 16 days!!! 16 days.....now that normally isn't enough time to change certain aspects of your life for the better (although depending on your strong belief it could!)

So I am calling for all of you to NOT make resolutions but make REVOLUTIONS (remember in history when revolutions took place....what was the result......a massive shift in beliefs and events) in your life...pick an aspect of your life that you wholeheartedly believe that you can change.....make sure you have an undying conviction that you can change this aspect of your life. Remember it is the beliefs in our lives that shape our outcomes.....

I truly believe in the below quote....

"If you do what you have always done, you will get what you have always got"

So make concrete plans, get your vision board out, get some dates in your diary as to when you are going to achieve, plan some check points along the way......and enjoy the amazing results you will achieve!!!!

Have an amazing 2009 and remember that All that we are is the result of our thoughts.......keep it positive.

Festivities

Merry Xmas one and all and I hope you all had a fantastic time. It is easy to get bound up in the commerciality of Xmas, but I have had an epihany this Xmas which has woken me up to the true meaning of not just Xmas but really of the basis of life.........being thankful for what you have got in life.

I have been blessed to be able to spend some quality time with my Girlfriend who is wonderfully amazing and a true blessing, with my parents who love me unconditionally no matter what great things I achieve, my wonderful sisters who have given me the best presents ever in the form of 3 wonderful nieces and 2 superb brothers in law and my Auntie who is a fantastic woman........all of the above does not cost anything, does not come with any returns receipt and you can not buy it the January sale. These people have helped me shape the amazing life that I have and the fantastic future I am going to have.

Be thankful for the people that you have in your life and make sure you live for today and remember that yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift......that's why they call it the present!

Happy Xmas.

Treasure your relationships, not your possessions. --Anthony J. D'Angelo

Little surprises

Do you ever have times where life throws you a curve ball that you weren't expecting? It could be anything from your car breaking down just before Xmas or your health being affected or a colleague not pulling their weight at work.....it would be so easy to fall into the trap of complaining, condemning and moaning about it all, but these are the perfect moments to realise what we are grateful for.

These are the clear moments of despair that we all have where the people that love you the most rally around you and get you "back on your feet"....this can come in many forms from a simple hug to giving you amazing support.....just remember this is the Universe's way of reminding you to be grateful for all the things that it has delivered to you already......sometimes we need these moments of despair to give us clarity on what we have already.......

So don't get caught up in complaining or bemoaning the fact that you have got to pay £1200 to get your car fixed or Amazon haven't delivered your Xmas presents on time......be thankful that you have a car in the first place and have a loving family and partner that you can buy presents for.....

Develop success from failures. Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. --Dale Carnegie

What is your future going to look like?

We can all too often get bound up in the what is happening right now in our lives and this can sometimes weigh us down (particularly if our lives are not where we thought they would be!!). It is important to realise that we need to embrace the present as it is a gift (hence its name) and ensure that what we are doing now is condusive to our success and achievement for the future..........but what if you don't know what the future brings for you?

The happiest people on the planet are those that do not wonder what the world is going to bring but have a clear unwavering conviction that they know what the UNIVERSE is going to bring them. They don't know how it is going to happen they just know! The first step I took to creating this mind shift was to have a clear idea of what I wanted out of my life.....so I created a vision/goal board, which covers every area of my life from Love to Money from Wealth to Health. This goal board is exactly how your life is going to look......

You need to imagine the Universe as a big Argos......you decide what you want..........put your order in...........focus on those things.......and then sit back and watch them arrive.......(along with a positive attitude, healthy thinking, being in an attitude of gratitude will get you there)

Go on....go and get a white board and start planning your life......its a fantastic feeling when you know you have go it..........

Enough for everyone.......

I have a sense and feeling the some people may think that as the economic situation becomes a little tighter their opportunities to gain health, wealth, love, money and all you wish for become significantly smaller and smaller.........this is far from true.......in fact with a slight shift in your attitude and thought process the world becomes even more full of opportunties.

Dale Carnegie talks about having an abundance mentality.....where there is enough for everyone, this is true but it is essential to make sure your thinking is right.....remember THOUGHTS BECOME THINGS....regardless of whether there is a credit crunch or a financial boom. If you are thinking right and acting towards that then the Universe moves things into line for you........just remember this not only works for positive thinking but also for negative thoughts so be careful what you wish for.......

Henry Ford said "If you think you can or you think you can't either way you're right" so make your thoughts your allies and give yourself a headstart by creating a positive mental attitude.

Act with courage and dignity; stick to the ideals that give meaning to life. --J. Nehru

Exercise to energise......

Its amazing how exercise can energise the most tired bodies and minds. I was suffering from notgettingupitis this morning and was all prepared to stay in bed when my alarm went off at 6am to go down the gym.

However, I hadn't banked on the power of my positive mind actually telling my muscles to move me from the bed, to the bathroom to brush my teeth, get dressed, get into the car and go to the gym!!! Its sensational as to what you can do when your mind takes over.

Once I got to the gym I suddenly found reserves of energy that I thought I was lacking only 30 mins previously. The movement of my muscles and the physical exercise were enough to make me look like the energiser bunny!!!

Just remember we are all made of energy and and when you feeling tired and lacking momentum, get up and move.....this is like shaking a snow globe......it gets your body energised again and makes you feel sensational.

Quote of the day........

Always bear in mind that your own resolution to success is more important than any other one thing. --Abraham Lincoln

Do you not find it strange that whenever you focus on being successful, happy, wealthy, healthy and motivated it always happens? And unfortunately whenever your focus is on your fear of being ill, unhappy, depressed, a lack of money and being lonely they happen too?

The power of positive thought is the key to success in all that you do. The universe moves heaven and earth for you to get everything that you think about whether you have bad or good thoughts....it does not discrminiate!! Henry Ford once said "Whether you believe you can or you can't either way you are right" - He understood this concept.

So next time you have a thought which focus's on what you don't want to happen, change your focus on to the result you do want and then sit back and watch everything move into alignment and give you what you want.....believe me its inspiring.

The Universe and you are connected and are a wonderful thing.

At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person. Each of us has cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us. --Albert Schweitzer

Welcome!

I often marvel at the wonders of modern technology (although this blog business has been around for ages!!). It is a superb way to get your message across and maybe give some new ideas to people.

I am a qualified life coach and a massive advocate of positive thinking and looking for the good in all opportunities. In the current climate where it is very easy to get swept up in the tidal wave of negativity, the happiest and wealthiest (not just in money terms) people are those that focus on the positives and focus on what they to happen in the future.

The ramblings on here are my way of focusing on the positive aspects of life and how we can go out about achieving all life's goals in the face of 'apparent' economic adversity - remember wealth isn't just measured by money!!!
